RUIN ME

“A physical representation of burnout, the artwork was only finished once it was destroyed by visitors on the opening night”

Using the Max/MSP programming language, I created an interactive composition program that, like the physical works in the show, could be  “ruined” by those in attendance.   Users were able to manipulate parameters such as delay time, distortion, playback rate, playback direction, etc. to influence the piece in destructive ways.   The user-created destructive states were experienced temporarily in real time, before becoming a permanent part of the evolving composition.
